SHAKESPEARE!
TROUBIES!
I’m pretty capable with a couplet y’all. The TROUBADOUR THEATRE COMPANY is a renowned troop that adds rock scores to Shakespeare’s work so we can make it a musical and create a punny title. Here we added Weezer’s music to Julius Caesar to bring the masses Julius Weezer. I played Marc Antony and am really friggin proud of the work this company does!

AS U2 LIKE IT
This is the show that started my Troubie Journey (still pitching Long Day’s JOURNEY Into Night by the by). Matt Walker (Founder of The Troubadour Theater Company) and I were playing brothers in Happy Days A New Musical in Connecticut. He was cooking up Shakespeare’s As You Like It with the music of U2 and would chit chat with me about it. I asked point blank “when are you gonna put me in one of your shows man?” He said “I’m putting you in this one. You’re gonna be Orlando.” THEN, at our first rehearsal he said “so here you’re gonna write your lyrics. Sooner the better yeah?” I said “Sorry. You want me to write?” “Yeah, you write the lyrics to your songs.” I had three songs where I did the heavy lifting. It was the first time I’d written anything and I’m proud of what came out so these clips aren’t so much a showcase of anything vocally amazing as they are me being proud of my first outing as a writer. My favorite in this song was coming up with a way to sing the chorus backwards. Thank you for the amazing opportunities Matt!!

Prop 8 was happening the same time the show was. Found a lyrical way to advocate for marriage equality.
Got a fairly decent falsetto. We hit it here and hit, um, something else. Favorite part was rhyming Song with Cheech and Chong
Quick scene with the inimitable Rick Batalla. Dude steals the show in every scene and I was trying my hardest to keep up. Couldn’t do it
Beauty and the Beast
Did a production of Beauty and the Beast at a theater that no longer exists so I think I can let this one fly. Here, the Beast sings “If I Can’t Love Her” to close out Act One. Yes, those are dishes clanking. This was a dinner theater and dessert was imminent. Also, it’s pretty soon after Be Our Guest so we could let the kids continue imagining the fun bit while the sad stuff happened.
GASTON
Played this guy more than the other guy
SPEAKING OF DISNEY!
I may have been better known as The Huntsman in this version of Snow White: An Enchanting Musical at Disneyland’s Fantasyland Theater.
But I played the Prince for a time too. Bottom right corner is footage of me from the show. Thank you Drew Hope for putting that all together! More can be found on his Instagram Page @FairestOfTheBlog
SERIAL KILLERS AT SACRED FOOLS
MR. MIMBLEGAST
Serial Killers is a sketch comedy competition series at Sacred Fools Theater. We got to do some weird and wonderful shit there. Here in Mr. Mimblegast, a fantasy comedy, Gorthak, an Orc, is talking to his therapist about a friend’s passing

BIGFOOT!
Yup! He’s real y’all! And he sings, as do the other towns people cuz, well, it’s a musical. Got to play with the hysterical Lauren Van Kurin on this one and had a blast being sad.

A WORLD WITHOUT…
Napkins. In this scene, the hilarious Heather Schmidt and I get to wonder what life would be like without napkins. Couldn’t ask for a better scene partner. This is a competition series with time limits and you lose votes if you go over so I lost us some votes but think we won some too with the added laughs. A grand night for sure.

A Little New Music
My friend Amy Schott invited me to this cool thing she and her friends created where we sing songs from shows that are in development. This is from a show called The Average Sized Mermaid and is titled “Jim’s Note.” I get to do the thing I’m best at, being an asshole
BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON
Had the honor of revisiting my Alma Mater to teach some masterclasses and play Andrew Jackson in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson. Such a blast playing with the young up and comers of the theater world while showing them the old dog still has tricks.
