HAMMOPHONES!!

A while back, Matt Berry, star of Toast of London, posted a photo of a Hammond Organ he was about to play. It launched my brain into a picture pun with Jon Hamm, who appeared in Toast Of London, placed on top of Matt Berry as Toast, so it was Hamm on Toast. Then came Hamm Organ and then Green Eggs and Hamm as suggested by my friend Jason Currie. Next thing I know I’m challenging myself to see if I can make one a day for a year. There’s a lot of clunkers in the collection but my pride and joy is the first photo you see and was suggested by my friend Eric Sciotto, who also coined the phrase Hammophones when discussing the creation of this picture pun puzzle rebus insanity. I made it the whole year, got a bonus one in, and then after a hiatus would move on to create Glamophones that were daily puzzles highlighting a different celebrity each week. They started as a goof but then a part of me wondered if they could possibly be puzzles to help fight off Dementia or Alzheimer’s or something. THE JIST

This game evolved quite a bit over time but the jist is it’s a collection of celebrity photos. Sometimes an inanimate object is in there, sometimes a place, I think a couple times there was a photo where I wanted you to think of the sound the person in the photo was making. It got quite convoluted till I reined it back in. At any rate, if it’s a celebrity I want you to think of either their first or last name, or often if it’s a person who uses an initial I’m leaning towards that. For instance, F. Murray Abraham would usually be used for the F. If I wanted to elicit a character the celebrity played I’d post a picture of the celebrity playing the role. For instance, if I wanted you to think of The Fonz, it’s Henry Winkler in the jacket. If I wanted you to think of Henry Winkler, it’s Henry Winkler in his own stuff not on the set of Happy Days. I would also give a clue to give you a fighting chance. So, if you’re playing the very first puzzle I gave a clue related to the band Queen. Then you see it’s Bo Jackson. I’m going for either Bo or Jackson. Then It’s Jon Hamm, and with him it was always Hamm, never Jon. So we got Bo and Hamm. BoHamm. Then it’s Ian McKellan. BoHammIan. Then chicken wraps. Either chicken or wraps. BoHammian Wraps. And then Odie from Garfield. BoHammIan WrapsOdie. BoHammian Rhapsody. Get it?!! GET IT?!! Good! Now I’m gonna answer each one here but if you wanna play you know where to find them.

Somebody had told me that the puzzles were getting too easy so I went for a ridiculously long one. This was probably the most intricate I got on here.
